TACOMA, Wash. - A stout defense was the key for Portland CC, as the Panthers held Tacoma to 20 percent shooting during a 74-27 win.
Surrendering a single three pointer, PCC led 21-3 after the first quarter and were never threatened.
The Panther lead only grew from there, and the gap was 37-13 at halftime. PCC was only able to muster a 1 of 9 effort from the three point line, but the host Titans were just 5 of 23 from the field.
The second half was a mirror of the first, with Portland's lead ballooning out to 49 points late in the game. Tacoma was unable to find any success versus the PCC defense, and the Panthers coasted to their 7th win in as many games.
JaLay Harris-Burns led the team with 13 points. Cara Dinneen added 12 points and 4 steals.
