SALEM, Ore. - Trailing by five after three quarters of play, Portland surged ahead during the final quarter to claim a 55-51 win at Chemeketa CC today.

The result snapped a four game losing streak for the Panthers, and improves their NWAC South record to 3-8.

The host Storm had the advantage for much of the game, and led by as many as 12 points (35-23) after scoring the first six points of the 3rd quarter.

Portland closed the gap to five points by the end of the 3rd period, and then made enough plays in the 4th to earn the much needed victory.

Malia Cabigon scored six of her 12 points in the deciding quarter, and the Panthers made 9 of 13 attempts from the free throw line to complete the comeback.

Ellie Haas scored a season best 17 points for PCC, which included four makes from three-point range.
