GRESHAM, Ore. - A season best scoring effort sent Portland past Mt. Hood yesterday, 79-62.
The Panthers hit 25 of 48 shots from the field, good for 52 percent which is by far the best performance this season. The aggressive offensive posture also sent PCC to free throw line for a season high 35 times, where the Panthers made 24 of their tries.
PCC built a 22-11 lead after the 1st quarter and did not look back. As the shots continued to fall the Panthers also stayed solid defensively and did an effective job clogging the lane. The host Saints tries to shoot over the top, but could make just 8 of 23 attempts from the three point line.
Emily Fortin scored a team high 16 points, and was joined by Malia Cabigon (15), Ellie Haas (13), Ashley Aughterson (10), and Lhaya Powers (10) in double figures.
