PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC continues to light up the scoreboard, as they hit the century mark for the 4th straight time in a 108-86 win over Lane CC at Harold Williams Court yesterday.
The result was also the 6th win in a row for the Panthers, who hope to continue the momentum as region play continues.
Versus the visiting Titans, PCC's attacking style was a success resulting in a blistering 56Â percent shooting for the game (43-77). The Panthers were especially deadly from the three point line hitting 16 of 27 tries.
The Panthers also showcased a team effort, with six players reaching double figure scoring.
Though the final score indicated a blowout win for Portland, Lane came to play and matched PCC point for point in the early action. The Titans led 31-30 midway through the first half, then trailed just 49-43 with 2:10 remaining. Portland then went on a 7-0 run to get some distance on the scoreboard, eventually leading 56-45 at halftime.
The game looked to be a real scrap to the end, as Lane came all the way back to tie the game at 72-72 with 10:49 to play. Portland took control at that point, holding Lane to to just nine points the rest of the way. In addition, PCC rattled off a 15-0 run to take control and turn a close game into a comfortable victory.
Jahvari Martino scored 26 points to lead PCC, which included a 4 of 5 performance from the three point line. Hayden Rose added 24 points, while Josh Lincoln contributed 20. Nydir Hodged contributed his first double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.Â
