GRESHAM, Ore. - Portland CC used a dominant second half to secure their seventh win in a row, defeating Mt. Hood CC 107-88 on the road yesterday evening.

For the first time in nine contests, Portland CC found themselves trailing at halftime versus the revved up Saints. The Panthers shot the ball well as usual (48 percent), but committed 13 turnovers facing Mt. Hood's pressure defense.

Behind 46-42 at the break, Portland scored the first nine points af the second half and never trailed again. Kye Gruhler scored seven of those points to provide the needed spark. As the period wore on, PCC cleaned up the ball handling and became more aggressive in attacking the basket. Led by Jahvari Martino's 12 of 12 effort, the Panthers made 21 of 26 free throw attempts. Martino scored 24 of his game high 34 points in the half to push the Panthers further ahead.

In addition to Martino's 34, Hayden Rose scored 23 points on 10 of 14 shooting. 

The Panthers lead the NWAC in scoring at 100.8 points per game.
