Hot Shooting Panthers Down Lakers

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland continued their recent scoring binge, eclipsing the century mark for the 3rd straight game in a 105-77 win over Southwestern Oregon tonight at Cascade Gym.

The visiting Lakers hung with PCC for the first few minutes of action, and led 20-19 with 12:18 showing on the clock. Portland then scored 12 in a row to take control and never trailed again.

Kyle Gruhler was the main instigator, scoring 13 points in the first half while hitting six of seven shot attempts.

The Panthers scored at a steady clip throughout the second period as well, and ended the game at an impressive 61 percent shooting (42 of 69).

Two free throws from Hayden Rose gave PCC their largest lead at 90-60 with eight minutes to play, and the Panthers cruised to the victory from there.

Gruhler finished with a team high 26 points on 11 of 14 shooting. Edy Essien added 19 points including five makes from three point range.
