SUTHERLIN, Ore. - Portland continued their quest for a playoff spot with a hard fought win over Umpqua CC on the road today, 1-0.
On a day where clear chances at goal were hard to come by, the visiting Panthers found the net in the 58th minute. Karly Murray scored her 4th goal of the season to provide PCC with the winning margin, with Jennifer Valencia passing for her 3rd assist.
Aleena Calvert did not have much to do in goal, making three saves to register her 4th shutout for the 2024 season.
The result moves Portland into sole possession of 2nd place in the NWAC South standings at 5-3-1 (12 points), just one point behind league leaders Rogue CC.
