OREGON CITY, Ore. - Portland CC women's soccer is marching into the postseason after a convincing 4-0 win at Clackamas yesterday.
The result locks in 2nd place for the Panthers in the NWAC South region standings, and affords the team a first round home playoff game.
Portland took control of the match versus the Cougars early on, as Melanie Alcantar Lopez found the net in the 8th minute. The Panthers then tacked on two more first half goals, with Joselyn De Los Santos and Karly Murray putting points on the board. The goal for De Los Santos was her first of the season.
The Panthers scored an insurance goal in the 61st minute thanks to Mira Thornton's 3rd strike of 2024.
Eight different Panthers have now scored a goal this season.
At 6-4-2 in the NWAC table and secure as the #2 seed, PCC will host #3 seed Tacoma CC on Wednesday, November 6th at the Rock Creek Campus. Kickoff time is to be determined.
