LONGVIEW, Wash. - The Panthers were unable to find their shooting range during a 88-69 loss at Lower Columbia last night.
PCC mustered a 40 percent shooting effort (24 of 60), and could never gain traction on the scoreboard versus the Devils. On the other hand, LCC connected at a 55 percent clip with consistent good looks at the basket.
Halfway through the fist period, LCC ran out to a 13 point lead (26-13) and maintained a double digit advantage for the rest of the half.
The second half was much the same, with PCC getting no closer than 12 points (59-47) with 13:31 to play. From there, the Devils extended their lead to as many as 27 points before settling for the 88-69 final score.
Portland did manage to make all 14 of their free throw attempts.
Vashon Hardges led PCC with 18 points. Jackson Leach added 14 points and five assists.
