OLYMPIA, Wash. - Portland CC won their second game in as many days with a 77-72 win over Grays Harbor College today in Olympia.
A back and forth first half saw PCC take control late, as the Panthers outscored GHC 7-1 in final minutes to enjoy a 37-31 lead at halftime.
Portland was on the ascendancy to start the second half, running out to a 16 point lead inside the first four minutes. It looked like a comfortable win was on the way for PCC, but the Chokers had other ideas.
GHC slowly climbed back into the game, eventually drawing within just two points (74-72) with 46 seconds to play. However PCC forced two turnovers and made 3 of 4 free throws to turn back the rally.
Jackson Leach had a scintillating performance, hitting all seven of his shot attempts on the way to a team leading 19 points. Jason Amens added 18 points including four three point goals.
