OLYMPIA, Wash. - Portland CC won their third game in as many days, this time over South Puget Sound 73-58.
It was defense that made the difference today, as PCC held the Clippers to 34 percent (23 of 68) for the game. SPSCC was also cold from the three point line, making just 6 of 25 tries.
Meanwhile, Portland was a steady 50 percent from the floor which allowed PCC to take control despite committing 17 turnovers.
The Panthers took the lead at 10-8 early in the game and did not trail again. A modest six point lead at halftime (33-27) was turned into methodically into a 17 point advantage (64-47) late in the 2nd period.
Jackson Leach continues to impress, this time pouring in 31 points which included a 10 of 10 effort from the free throw line. Jamie McGrail added 10 points, while Peter Oguama contributed seven points and nine rebounds.
