LONGVIEW, Wash. - Five Panthers reached double figure scoring, with a total team effort sending Portland past Centralia today, 85-61.
Though the final score was lopsided, it was the PCC that started the game slowly. Centralia jumped out to a 11-1 lead over the sluggish Panthers in the first five minutes.
Jackson Leach scored a quick five points to help right the ship, and Portland came back to tie the game at 15-15. JahAllah Van came alive also, scoring eight points in the half to help PCC to a 41-31 lead the the break.
PCC owned the second half, pushing their advantage out to 24 points on two occasions, including the margin of the final score. Jason Amens was a catalyst in the period with 10 points.
Leach led Panther scorers with 19 points. Vashon Hardges (14), Daniel James (13), Van (13), and Amens (12) also hit double figures. James also grabbed a game high 12 rebounds.
