PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland responded to their heavy loss yesterday, defeating Everett 76-62 in Friday at the NWAC Crossover.

After a night where nearly nothing went right, the Panthers bounced back with confident play and aggressive defense.

PCC led by just two at the break (34-32), but steady accuracy from the field in the second half (48 percent) allowed the host team to pull away for a comfortable win. Solid defense also contributed to the result, as the Panthers held the Trojans to 33 percent after halftime.

Portland decided to go inside to Daniel James for scoring opportunities, and the post player delivered with 21 points on 10 of 14 shooting. Vashon Hardges added 20 points and 11 rebounds. Peter Oguama has seen his role increase, and he earned more time with 10 rebounds and solid defense off the bench.
