Panthers Power Past LBCC

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC broke loose offensively inside Cascade Gym tonight, cruising past Linn-Benton CC 113-18 in NWAC South play.

Despite the lopsided result, the game looked to be competitive early on. The visiting Roadrunners were matching PCC point for point, and led 32-30 with 6:20 on the clock in the first half. The Panthers then closed the period by outscoring Linn-Benton 24-5 to take control and lead by 15 at the break (54-39).

Portland then poured it on in the second half, quickly pushing their advantage past 20 points. Led by Jahvari Martino's 34 points, the Panthers cut through the Roadrunner defense to shoot a blistering 61 percent overall (45 of 73).

Six other Panthers reached double figure scoring, with Hayden Rose and Josh Lincoln chipping 15 each.

PCC is in the drivers seat for the NWAC South title at 10-1 with four games to play.
