COOS BAY, Ore. - A strong defensive scheme surrendered a season low point total, as Portland defeated Southwestern Oregon on the road last night, 80-62.
It was the least amount of points allowed for PCC this year, as the furious pace that the Panthers push for never materialized in this contest.
It was a close game early, and the Lakers were gunning for the upset at home. SWOC led 24-23 just past the midway point of the first half, but Brandon Hopson canned a three pointer and PCC never trailed again.
Portland led 42-34 at the break, then slowly pulled away in the second half. PCC's largest lead reached 22 points (76-54), as the Panthers never let the host team get any traction on the offensive end.
Josh Linoln led PCC with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
