Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Close Loss for PCC vs Clippers

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC men's soccer hoped for three wins in a row, but were thwarted by South Puget Sound today, 2-1 at the Rock Creek Campus.

The Panthers enjoyed two wins versus NWAC West opponents over the last week, and seemed ready to continue their improvement and confidence versus South Puget Sound. The visiting Clippers had other ideas, scoring a goal in each half to escape with a win.

SPS got on the board first, with Mo Diallo catching the PCC defense flat footed in the 8th minute. Portland responded quickly, as Trung Nghia scored his second goal in as many games in the 14th minute. Gerardo Contreras was credited with the assist.

Neither team found much success on the attack for the rest of the game, but the Clippers went ahead off the boot of Alex Canning in the 57th minute.

Portland managed only two shots at goal in the second half, and three corner kicks yielded no tying goal.

Goalkeeper Jospeh Roeper made six saves in the loss.
