PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC couldn't overcome a strong Clark College side, falling 3-1 to the undefeated Penguins at home yesterday.
The Panthers gave a good account of themselves, especially in the second half. Clark kept their record unblemished for the season however, and kept PCC keeper Joseph Roeper busy throughout the game.
Clark scored two first half goals, one inside five minutes from the other. Roeper did what he could, making six saves to keep Portland in the game.
Alexis Llamas gave the Panthers a lift just after halftime, scoring an unassisted goal in the 54th minute.
Clark added an insurance goal in the 71st minute despite a more determined defensive effort from PCC, and eventually claimed the win to move to 5-0 on the year.
Portland dropped to 2-6 for the season.
