COOS BAY, Ore. - Portland shared the spoils with Southwestern Oregon on the road today, coming home with a 2-2 draw.
Both teams scored once each half, with the host Lakers forcing the Panthers to come from behind twice. Yandell Hernandez scored early on for SWOC, finding the net in the 9th minute. PCC answered quickly, as Mohamud Abdikadir scored his second goal of the season just five minutes later.
Overall the first half was subdued compared to the action after halftime. Proceedings turned contentious, as nine cautions were issued to the teams and a Laker player was sent off in the 88th minute.Â
Hernandez scored his second for SWOC in the 49th minute, but Trung Nghia leveled for Portland in the 75th minute which saved PCC from dropping all three points.
Portland out shot SWOC 12-10, and the teams each generated three corner kicks.
