Lakers Best PCC 4-1 in Coos Bay

COOS BAY, Ore. - Portland dropped a 4-1 decision to Southwestern Oregon on the road yesterday, dropping the Pantheres NWAC record to 1-1.

The Panthers got off to a bright start, scoring first with Melanie Alcantar Lopez registering her first collegiate goal in the 13th minute. Yesenia Gaspar was credited with the assist.

From there, the host Lakers put four unanswered goals on the board - two in each half.

The statistics would point to a much closer score, with SWOC registering 11 shots to PCC's 10. The Lakers were much more clinical in front of goal however, with their attempts placed out of the reach of Panther goalkeepers Aleena Calvert and Natalie Oliveira.

Portland will try to rebound on Friday versus Umpqua at the Rock Creek Campus.
