CENTRALIA, Wash. - Portland CC men's soccer fell in a close contest to Centralia College on the road yesterday, 4-3.
The Panthers demonstrated their potential in attack with a season best three goals, but too many defensive errors put the team to play from behind again on Saturday.
PCC found themselves down 2-0 after a lackluster first half. Coach Roberto Maestretti made the necessary tactical adjustments at the break, resulting in two quick goals from Naseri Bakata (48', 53'). The host Trailblazers responded however, and tacked on two more goals to take control of the game.
Portland managed to give Centralia something to think about in the closing moments, forcing the Blazers to deflect the ball into their own net with two minutes left. PCC could not find the tying goal and fell to 0-4 on the season.
Next up for the Panthers is yet another road game, this one versus Tacoma on Wednesday, September 11.
