PCC Men Falter at Southwestern Oregon

COOS BAY, Ore. - Very little went right for Portland CC men's basketball on the road at Southwestern Oregon during a 93-67 loss in NWAC South region play.

The result was the first setback for the Panthers in league action after three straight wins.

The host Lakers showed why they are the 3rd best three point shooting team in the NWAC, hitting 16 of 31 attempts for the game. Meanwhile, Portland managed just four makes on 18 tries.

The Panthers looked to be in a competitive game early on, and after JahAllah Van drained a three pointer PCC led 18-15 with 10:17 on the clock. From that point, SWOC started shooting lights out and went on to lead 48-34 at halftime.

The second half continued the trend, as the Lakers maintained their deadly accuracy from distance. Portland was unable to match the scoring, making just one three pointer in the half and shooting just 34 percent overall.

Vashon Hardges led the Panthers with 14 points. Daniel James was in foul trouble early, but finished with 13 points and nine rebounds.
