Overtime Luck Runs Out for PCC Women

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC endured their 3rd overtime game in a row, with this one resulting in a 88-79 loss to Clackamas inside Cascade Gym.

Looking at the stats, the game would favor the visiting Cougars enjoying a comfortable win. CCC put on a full court press that the Panthers had trouble with, forcing 35 turnovers that resulted in 32 points. Portland made up for the suspect ball handling with clutch shooting, as the home team shot 49 percent for the game and 46 percent from three point range.

Each time the Cougars looked like they would take control with their pressure defense, Portland responded with a big make from distance or a drive and hand off inside the paint.

A solid 4th quarter from PCC made the score 77-72 with 1:56 to play, but Clackamas closed the regulation time with five straight points to force another overtime period on the exhausted Panthers.

The Cougars press forced four turnovers during the extra time, and PCC was unable to keep pace. With just seven players available, the Panthers had no other options to solve the CCC defense in the full court.

Raven Parson had another solid game, this time scoring 17 points. Lilly Walker had to shoulder some of the ball handling duties, and contributed 10 points and 13 rebounds. Others in double figures were Kaylee Foster (15), Amelia Echternkamp (12), and Jaciene Carpenter (10).
