COOS BAY, Ore. - Portland women's soccer earned a much needed three points yesterday, defeating Southwestern Oregon 2-0.
The result keeps the Panthers firmly in the hunt for a playoff spot in the hotly contested NWAC South Region standings.
Stats for the match were incomplete, but goals were scored by Aurora Hammerstedt (28th minute) and Layne Montgomery (45th minute). Hammerstedt's goal was her 5th of the season.
The next event for PPC is a key matchup versus Clackamas at home on Friday, Oct 10. Portland defeated the Cougars 2-0 earlier in the season.
