SPOKANE, Wash. - Portland CC faced a shooting slump in the first half, then were unable to recover in a 73-46 loss to Spokane yesterday in the first of three games at the NWAC Crossover hosted by the Sasquatch.
The Panthers managed to score just 14 points in the first half, including a mere five in the second period. Despite the struggles on the offensive end, the defensive effort was consistent as PCC held Spokane to only nine points.Â
The second half saw Portland improve considerably, matching the Sasquatch point for point over the 10 minutes of the 3rd quarter. The hosts caught fire from there hitting 11 of their 19 attempts in the 4th quarter, while PCC went 5 of 15 which allowed Spokane to extend their lead our to the final margin of 27.
Kamakila Waiwaiole continues to lead Portland in scoring, this time hitting for 14 points. Eva LeBlanc added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
