SALEM, Ore. - Portland dropped a hard fought game to Chemeketa yesterday 65-64, clouding the playoff picture with four games left to play.
The two teams battled to a stalemate for the duration, with neither team leading by more than seven points.Â
With the score tied 59-59 with two minutes to play, it was the host Storm that came up with the winning plays down the stretch. Chemeketa managed a three pointer while PCC countered with a drive and score from Amelia Echternkamp. Ultimately, it was a late free throw that made the difference, as BettyAnn Wilson's last second three pointer could only make the final margin one point.
Lilly Walker had her best game of the season, pouring in 28 points and grabbing 20 rebounds. Raven Parson and BettyAnn Wilson added 10 points each.
The result moves Chemeketa (6-5) a half game in front of PCC (6-6) in the NWAC South standings with four games to play.
