PORTLAND, Ore. - Emily Peabody hit a top of the key three pointer at the buzzer to give Clark the thrilling win over Portland 74-73, spoiling the Panthers' sophomore night.
Just seconds earlier with the Panthers trailing by one point, Kaylee Foster made a long trey to put Portland ahead 73-71. The visiting Penguins rushed the ball forward, using all six seconds remaining until Peabody's game winning shot.
The two teams battles closely all game, with the lead changing hands seven times over the four quarters of action. PCC enjoyed their largest lead of nine (58-49) at the beginning of the 4th quarter, but Clark slowly fought back to give themselves a chance.Â
Peabody led all scorers with 37 points.
Lilly Walker scored 22 to lead PCC. Kaylee Foster added 21 points which included five three pointers. Amelia Echternkamp was also in double figures with 15 points.
Sophomore athletes Walker, Foster, Raven Parson, Jaicene Carpenter, and BettyAnn Wilson were honored before the game.
