PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC gave a good effort, but couldn't slow down the NWAC's top scoring team in a 89-63 loss today at Cascade Gym.
The Titan shooters were red hot in the first half, connecting at a 57 percent clip which resulted in a 54-34 halftime lead. The Panthers tried to keep place behind BettyAnn Wilson's 15 points, but a 5 of 20 overall effort in the 2nd quarter allowed Lane to pull away.
The 3rd quarter belonged to the Titans as well, as the visitors opened up their lead to a game high 31 points. PCC rallied a bit in the 4th quarter but the outcome was decided.Â
Lane was intent in fencing off the key as much as possible, cutting off drives to the basket and forcing Portland to try to shoot over the top. The Panthers shot 43 three pointers to make 10, which is 17 more attempts than their season average.
Wilson finished with 19 points and eight rebounds. Lilly Walker added 16 points and seven rebounds.
