ROSEBURG, Ore. - Portland stayed within striking distance through three quarters versus a talented Umpqua squad, but fell 96-60 on the road today.
Bolstered by a confidence boosting win over the weekend, the Panthers fought hard to give themselves a chance facing a strong team on the road. With fatigue setting in after three games in six days, PCC watched a 14 point deficit stretch to 30 over the 10 minutes of the 4th quarter.
The Panthers could not keep the Riverhawks off the boards, losing the rebounding battle 54-27. Kaelyn Shoemaker was a thorn in PCC's side, scoring 28 points and grabbing 20 rebounds.
Bregan Ruhland led the way for PCC, contributing 15 points and seven rebounds. Udoka Amadi added 13 points off the bench.
