PORTLAND, Ore. - A game that looked to be Portland's second region win of the season was turned on it's head in the 4th quarter, as Mt. Hood made the comeback to defeat the Panthers 52-47 yesterday at Harold Williams Court.
The host Panthers enjoyed a comfortable 13 point lead early in the final period, but saw the Saints catch fire and outscore PCC 22-6 during the 10 minutes of court action.
The lid went on the rim for Portland, and multiple ball handling errors led to some easy transition baskets for Mt. Hood.
In the absence of leading scorer Kamakila Waiwaiole, point guard Claudia Arellano took the lead offensively with 16 points. Bregan Ruhland added 11 points including a 7 of 8 effort from the free throw line.
