COOS BAY, Ore. - A game that balanced on the thinnest of margins broke to the host Lakers in overtime, as Portland fell 106-101 at Southwestern Oregon over the weekend.
It was a contest of momentum swings, with seven lead changes and six tie scores. The Panthers managed to build a 12 point lead in the second half, but SWOC stayed aggressive and climbed back into the game with 15 free throws.Â
PCC saw the result slip away in the extra period, scoring just a single field goal and committing two costly turnovers. Five free throw makes out of six tries was not enough to claim the win.
Jackson Leach dropped in 30 points and passed for eight assists in a vintage performance. Luke Jessup added a season high of 28 points on 10 of 14 shooting.Â
