PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland CC is pleased to announce that Chris Meyers has been chosen to lead the Panther Women's Basketball program for the 2026-27 season. 

Meyers replaces Chelsea Stocks, who stepped down to be closer to family in her native California. 

No stranger to the Panther program, Meyers has been the head assistant coach for the past two seasons and heavily involved in the day-to-day operation and recruiting efforts.

"We are fortunate to have Chris step up to lead our women's team," said Athletic Director Tony Broadous. "He's been the point person on much of our recruiting which makes this a natural transition. Chris is a respected and experienced coach that emphasizes student success and will give his all to make this season a great one for our athletes."

Meyers was a long-time coach in the Oregon high school ranks, with 13 years at McLaughlin HS and 18 years at Sandy HS. He has coached both boys and girls basketball, volleyball, and tennis, leading numerous teams to record setting performances and state tournament appearances.

"I am excited to lead this program, and look forward to working with our returning players and new recruits," said coach Meyers. "We've got some talented players arriving from winning programs that will make us much more competitive this year."
