PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Community College Athletics will host an African-American Men's Health Awareness event on February 18 at the Cascade Gym.

The event is named after former assistant coach Aaron Bell, who passed suddenly in 2019 due to a heart related illness. The annual Aaron Bell African-American Men's Health Awareness Day attempts to bring awareness to everyone - especially men - that resources are available to improve wellness and to encourage healthy lifestyle choices. While the day will focus on the health of African-American men, the resources are available to everyone and all are welcome!

This event will include:

  • Body & mind health tips
  • Free blood pressure testing
  • Health clinic information
  • Covid vaccinations
  • Flu shots
  • Mammogram information
  • Raffle prizes

The event will be held in partnership with the Urban League of Portland and the North by Northeast Community Health Center.

Let's get healthy, and watch the Panther basketball teams at 2pm and 4pm versus Umpqua!
