POST SEASON HONORS ROLL IN
Three players from the Panthers were recognized by the NWAC with all-region honors, as released by the league office
DANIEL JAMES - 1st Team
The 6-8 post averaged 14.3 points per game overall, while improving his scoring to 18.1 per game during region play. His rebounding numbers were even more impressive, as the freshman led the NWAC South in defensive rebounds (165), total rebounds (215), and rebounds per game (13.4).Â
JACKSON LEACH - 1st Team
The freshman from West Salem HS has been an impact player from the start, providing scoring and playmaking for the Panthers all year. The 5-10 guard averaged a team high 16.9 points per game, while leading PCC with 118 total assists. He also contributed 48 steals while shooting 89.5 percent from the free throw line.
JAMIE MCGRAIL - All Defensive Team
The 6-0 sophomore from Gibraltar came into his own this season, providing gritty perimeter defense and rebounding fom his guard position. Often guarding the opposing teams best player, he helped the Panthers allow just 71.8 points per game - 8th best in the NWAC. He contributed 7.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, while making 40 total steals.
ABOUT COLUMBIA BASIN
The Hawks ended the season as the 4th seed out of the East region with a 15-11 overall record and 6-8 mark in league play. CBC's calling card this season has been defense, as they are allowing just 69.4 points per game which is 6th best in the NWAC. On the other hand, scoring has been middling at best as the Hawks score 73.4 per game which ranks 22nd in the NWAC. CBC backed into the playoffs, as they lost their last three games of the season. Every playoff team is dangerous however, and several Hawk players can make teams pay. 6-6 forward Coleton Hansen averages 15.6 points per game, and scored over 20 points in five of his last 6 games. 6-4 guard Bobby Seibers scores 14.1 points per game and shoots a very solid 51 percent from the field. 6-3 guard Keiran Brown is also averaging double figures (12.4) and leads the team in assists at 3.3 per game.Â
The last time these two teams met was last season in the quarterfinals of the NWAC Tourney, with Portland winning 86-82
